RCIA - Rite of Initiation of Adults

Is the Answer the Catholic Church?
Do you ever ask yourself…
What am I looking for in life?
What is the meaning of my life?
How can I be a better person?
What can I do about the loneliness I feel?
How can I come to know God’s love?
How can I know the right path God has in store for me?
If you are asking these questions, or questions like them, the Catholic way of life awaits you. For centuries, people have turned to the Church to find the answers to the deepest and hardest questions of everyday life. Our church community has inquiry sessions to share with others the truths of the Catholic Faith and the fellowship of our parish family. The sessions are free and imply no commitment on your part to join the Catholic Church. We are simply inviting you to learn what the Church teaches, and to meet some of our parish family. These sessions also are opportunities for you, and others that you may wish to invite, to ask any questions you may have about Jesus Christ and the Church.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is the process by which someone enters the Catholic Church. We are very happy to answer any and all questions you may have about the Catholic Church before you make any commitments. As a matter of fact, we require everyone to take several weeks or more to learn basics about the Church, pray and think about it before even beginning the formal process.
RCIA is not just for those who are not baptized. Many Christians who are baptized, but not Catholic, are also welcome to enter the Catholic Church through the RCIA. As well, if you are a baptized Catholic, but have not received any other sacraments, then RCIA may be for you too.
If you have questions or are interested in learning how one becomes Catholic, call Deacon Greg at 716-683-6522 x125 or e-mail him at deacon.greg@olpparish.com. All calls and emails are confidential.
