Catholic Charities Volunteers

The Catholic Charities volunteers organize the annual drive to collect funds within Our Lady of Pompeii Parish for the Diocesan Appeal through mailings, phone calls and contact. Catholic Charities serves the needs of people within the Diocese of Buffalo. Contact - Parish Office, 683-6522

Bereavement Committee

Visit families prior to a funeral to help plan the funeral Mass. Some members are servers for funeral Masses, while others visit and pray at wakes. We also plan a Memorial Mass each November for all deceased members of the parish. Meetings as needed. Contact - Kathie Mazurkiewicz

Communion Calls

A team of volunteers provide communion to homebound parishioners on a monthly basis. Visits are also made to local hospitals and nursing homes.

Grounds Beautification Ministry

The Grounds Beautification Ministry consists of a dedicated group of men and women who devote some of their spare time to plant, weed, water, and spruce up the flowerbeds on the grounds of Our Lady of Pompeii Church. They are always looking for new "green thumbs." You don't need to be a master gardener to join!

Grief Sharing

Offers prayer, support and direction to those mourning the loss of a loved one through death. A series of Grief Sharing DVD presentations are given by grief experts who share their personal stories and offer ways to cope with grief. A discussion and fellowship follow the presentation. Meetings two Wednesdays per month; October through April.

Respect Life Committee

The Respect Life Committee promotes visual and spiritual awareness of our youngest, oldest and smallest brothers and sisters; those still in the womb and those confined to beds who cannot speak, defend themselves or even pray. We support and defend life from conception to natural death. Meetings first Monday of the month; September through June.

Outreach

The members of Our Lady of Pompeii Parish bring donations of paper products and non-perishable food items for distribution to the needy through the Tri-Community Food Pantry in Depew and the Trinity Episcopal Food Pantry in Lancaster.
